Remo Schmid

Remo Schmid is a Swiss national born in 1973 and grew up in Arosa in the canon of Grison. After school, he completed his commercial education from 1992-1996 as a banker at UBS with honor. He was then admitted to the UBS development program designed for junior with high potentials. After this on-the-job training, he left UBS and study at the university of applied sciences. The focus of his studies was on banking & finance and organization and informatics. He graduated in business administration and economics in 1999.

After deepening his theoretical skills, he started his consulting career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as an assistant consultant on October 1 st 1999. On July 1 st , 2007 he was admitted to the PwC partnership at an age of 34 years and thus being one of the youngest partners.

During his career at PwC he build and led the reward practice (executive compensation) in Switzerland and Germany and was member of the respective leadership teams. During his 21 years at PwC he led various consulting projects for Swiss / German multinational companies with regard to the design and global implementation of their compensation plans focusing on equity-based participation programs covering tax, accounting, regulatory, corporate Governance and legal issues. Besides dealing with stock listed companies, he has a broad experience with the alignment of interests of the shareholders, the company and its employees in connection with privately held companies (including PE), corporate restructurings and IPOs.

Remo Schmid was a widely know and accepted expert and published a lot in his filed of expertise. Due to his technical knowledge, he was also often representing the Swiss business community in mixed working groups developing new tax laws, rules and guidelines.

In 2020, Remo Schmid left PwC and Switzerland to join Priora in Dubai. He supports the Priora to become a more international investment group.

Remo Schmid is a young leader alumnus of the American Swiss Foundation and member of Rotary International. He is member of the board of the cantonal cancer organization of the canton of Zurich and member of the advisory board of the university of applied science in Chur (both in Switzerland). Further, he is an off duty officer of the Swiss army.
